Puerto Rico’s Craft Beer Shines Bright At La Copa CentroMx

Yesterday at the 4th La Copa CentroMx (professional and amateur beer, mead and cider competition), Puerto Rico took home 5 Medals plus a Best of Show.

The competition is endorsed by the “Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP)” based on its official guidelines that are supported internationally.

Particiapting in this years comptetion were 5 Puerto Rican Homebrewers and 7 Puerto Rican Breweries.

In the Amateur / Homebrew category Joel Trabal won Silver with is Ryequeña Beer and Jose Lizardi won Bronze for his Tamarind Maple Oak Tripel beer,

In the Professional category, Singing Storm Beer Works won Gold with their Frente Frío Cold IPA, while Reina Mora Brewing Co. took Silver with La Suegra, along with Ocean lab Brewing Co. who also won a Silver medal for their Ocean Mambo beer.

Along with their Gold medal Singing Storm Beer Works won Best of Show with Frente Frío Cold IPA.

This is a great achievement for Puerto Rico’s Craft beer scene and focus now turns to July for the Copa Quetzal that will be taking place in Guatamala.
