Four NEW German Beers Are Coming

This is the part we’re watching most closely at PRBG.

Ocean Lab plans to release four new German beer styles specifically for Oktoberfest, served directly from the tanks at San Patricio Plaza beginning September 19.

At the time of writing, Ocean Lab has not revealed the names, specific styles, ABVs or tasting profiles of the four beers.

What we do know is important: these four releases do not include Ocean Festbier or Ocean Oktoberfest Märzen. Those are separate seasonal releases already available heading into the Oktoberfest celebration.

That gives Ocean Lab the potential for a particularly broad German-style lineup during the season.

Ocean Festbier

The recently released Ocean Festbier is a 6% ABV, 20 IBU German-style Festbier that originated as a small-batch release from the tanks at San Patricio.

It went on to win a Gold Medal at the 2026 Copa Guaraní and, for the first time, has made the jump from tank beer to bottles.

The beer delivers the lighter, highly drinkable side of the German festival tradition, with a crisp profile built for the kind of extended Oktoberfest celebration Ocean Lab has planned.

Ocean Oktoberfest Märzen

Ocean Lab has also brought back its traditional Oktoberfest Märzen for the season.

The Märzen offers the richer side of the Oktoberfest spectrum, with a copper color and a malt-forward profile featuring caramel, toasted bread and subtle toffee notes balanced by a crisp finish.

Together, Festbier and Märzen provide two familiar Oktoberfest options, but neither counts toward the four new German beers arriving September 19.

We’ll update this guide once Ocean Lab reveals exactly what’s going into those four tanks.

October Brings Even More Events

The Oktoberfest calendar continues throughout October with live music almost every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Three larger events also take the celebration beyond San Patricio Plaza and over to Vivo Beach Club.

October 3 – PR Beer Fest

The Puerto Rico Beer Fest returns to Vivo Beach Club on Saturday, October 3, beginning at 7pm.

The beer focused event brings breweries and craft beer fans together at Ocean Lab’s beachfront home in Isla Verde.

Basiko is also scheduled to perform at San Patricio Plaza beginning at 6 p.m. that evening.

October 10 – INDIE LAB

On Saturday, October 10, INDIE LAB takes over Vivo Beach Club beginning at 8pm.

The concert lineup includes Los Walters, Del Toro and Lockward.

Meanwhile, Katdillacs will perform at San Patricio Plaza beginning at 6pm

October 17 – El Baila’o

The third major event arrives Saturday, October 17, when El Baila’o brings El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico and Wilfrido Vargas together at Vivo Beach Club.

The event begins at 7pm.

Back at San Patricio Plaza, Liquido performs beginning at 6pm.

PR Beer Fest, INDIE LAB and El Baila’o take place at Vivo Beach Club in Carolina.

PRBG Final Pour

Ocean Lab is going considerably bigger than a single Oktoberfest beer and a weekend party in 2026.

With six total German styles featured throughout the season, seven weeks of live music and several major events, San Patricio Plaza is shaping up to be one of the more interesting places for Puerto Rico craft beer fans to experience Oktoberfest this year.

For PRBG, though, September 19 is the date we’re watching. Four completely new German beer styles pouring directly from the San Patricio tanks gives drinkers an opportunity to explore beyond the IPAs and hop-forward releases that dominate much of today’s craft beer landscape.

Once Ocean Lab reveals exactly what’s pouring from those four tanks, we’ll update this guide with the beer names, styles, ABVs and what you can expect in the glass.

Prost! 🍻
