Guayamón Black IPA is the newest beer to hit the Puerto Rican craft beer scene, and it’s packing serious flavor and community spirit.

Brewed in a three-way collaboration between 100×35 Beer Boutique (San Juan/Guaynabo), Beer Me Home (Bayamón), and Cervecería del Callejón (Old San Juan), this beer was designed to live in the in-between , both geographically and stylistically.

And yes, the name “Guayamón” is a tongue-in-cheek nod to the infamous retail gray zone where Bayamón and Guaynabo blur together.

The Recipe: Bold, Balanced & Brewed to Stand Out

Crafted with a deep malt backbone and layered hops, Guayamón is a Black IPA with a modern twist.

Brewed with:

  • Base: 2-Row
  • Malts: Munich, Chocolate, Blackprinz, for color, complexity, and roasted character
  • Hops: CTZ and Mosaic (T90) + Chinook Incognito, a blend of old school and new school hop expression
  • Yeast: Fermented warm with Lutra Kveik for a clean, fast finish

What to Expect in the Glass

Appearance:
Jet black, opaque pour with a creamy tan head.

Aroma:
Roasted coffee. Burnt cocoa. Pine and citrus peel hop punch.

Flavor:
It hits with roast and hop bitterness firs, then comes the chocolate.
Hints of dark fruit. A whisper of citrus.
All wrapped in a crisp, dry finish that invites another sip.

This is not your average IPA. Or your average stout. It’s that delicious place in between; just like its name.
