The Orocovis based Microbrewery Cacique Brewing Co. today announced their latest beer: La Francia Farmhouse Lager.

For this brew Cacique Brewing Co. are aiming to break the barrier between what is a lager and what is a traditional ale. To such end, Cacique used a blend of Lager and Saison Yeasts, added Nelson Sauvin Hops post-fermentation, and then conditioned the beer with French Oak previously used to age gin. A lengthy lagering process imparts a refreshing texture to this beer, enhancing its complexity without being overly imposing. Expect flavors of wheat, green grapes, wood, and botanical aromas such as flowers and spices.

Cacique Brewing Co say they were “Inspired by the greatness, beauty and the essence of peace that is breathed in our formidable mountains of Orocovis, we made a beer with the intention of imparting those same feelings to our people”.

La Francia Farmhouse Lager has an ABV of 7% and will be released this Saturday April 8 at Cacique Brewing Co.
