Furkin Friday - Cask Ale Tapping Taberna LupoloOwners Jake and Zalika Liman from La Taberna Lúpolo would like you to join them at the

First Ever Cask Ale Tapping in Puerto Rico

On Friday May 26 @ 5pm La Taberna Lúpolo will be the first ever bar to tap a cask ale in Puerto Rico. They are calling the event Firkin Friday 🙂 and they will feature Two Hearted Ale from Bell’s Brewery.

Unlike regular keg beer that is served at around 38F, Cask Ale also known as Real Ale is served between 53-57F. Cask Ale is made with traditional ingredients and matured with secondary fermentation in the keg. No Carbon Dioxide is used during the serving of Cask Ale, instead the keg is tapped and the beer flows by gravity (or sometimes a small pump).

I believe that at La Taberna Lúpolo the keg (Firkin) will be tapped in the bar and gravity used to fill the glasses. They have 3 casks from Bell’s Brewery and plan on tapping one every Friday over the next 3 weeks.

So if you can and you love beer, head to La Taberna Lúpolo this Friday Night and see history being made. If you can’t make this weekend, you have 2 more Fridays to try a cask ale.
