For Ocean Lab Brewing Co., collaboration has always been about exploration rather than spectacle. At Microbrew Fest Panama, the brewery is leaning into that philosophy with Brutal Gose, a tropical interpretation of the style designed specifically for warm climates, curious drinkers, and festival-paced days.

This release isn’t about shock value. It’s about balance, refreshment, and letting creativity speak clearly in the glass.

A True Cross Border Collaboration

Brutal Gose is the product of a focused international effort between three partners, each contributing a distinct perspective.

Salsipuedes Brewing Co. worked alongside Ocean Lab on the brewing side, helping shape a beer that fits Panama’s climate and festival culture. Valenzuela Catering added a culinary driven contribution that elevated the recipe’s balance and refinement.

Rather than feeling experimental for its own sake, the collaboration comes across as cohesive and thoughtfully executed.

A Gose Built for Heat and Drinkability

Brutal Gose comes in at 4.5% ABV, keeping it firmly in session territory while still delivering expressive flavor. The base stays true to the gose tradition, with a gentle acidity and a clean, lightly saline structure that keeps the beer crisp and highly drinkable.

From there, the recipe opens up in a way that feels intentional rather than excessive. Every addition has a purpose, and nothing overwhelms the core.

Tropical Layers with a Controlled Finish

The flavor profile leans Caribbean without drifting into sweetness-heavy territory. Orange curaçao brings brightness and subtle bitterness, while fresh pineapple adds natural tropical fruit character. Mint introduces a cooling note that sharpens the finish and keeps the beer refreshing from first sip to last.

There’s also a touch of blue curaçao in the recipe. It’s present for complexity rather than color, adding depth without turning the beer visually blue. The result is a gose that plays with expectations while staying composed and easy to return to.

Official Brutal Gose Launch at Microbrew Fest Panama

Brutal Gose will make its official debut at Microbrew Fest in Panama, taking place February 6-7.

Festivalgoers can find it at Stand #18, where it will be poured exclusively during the event. This is a moment-specific release, designed to be experienced fresh, in the heat, and in the middle of the festival atmosphere.

Why Brutal Gose Fits the Moment

This beer reflects what Ocean Lab does best when working beyond its home base. It respects the style, adapts to its environment, and uses collaboration to push flavor forward without sacrificing drinkability.

Brutal Gose isn’t loud, and it isn’t trying to be. It’s refreshing, balanced, and confident in its execution, making it an ideal companion for Microbrew Fest Panama and a strong example of what thoughtful international collaboration can produce.
