Coffee and craft beer have always shared a similar language. Bold aromas. Roasted complexity. Slow moments meant to be enjoyed. Now, Boquerón Brewing Co. is bringing those worlds together with the release of La Greca Coffee Porter, a new 7% ABV porter brewed with specialty coffee from Torrification Major Roastery in Ponce.
Crafted with a selection of specialty malts and infused with locally roasted coffee, La Greca Coffee Porter was designed by coffee lovers, for coffee lovers. The result is a rich and smooth dark beer that leans into roasted depth while still remaining approachable enough for Puerto Rico’s warm coastal evenings.
Available on draft only, the new release is now pouring at the brewery’s taproom along with select craft beer spots across Puerto Rico’s west coast.
Puerto Rican Coffee Meets Dark Malt Character
With La Greca Coffee Porter, Boquerón Brewing Co. continues exploring locally inspired flavors while highlighting another important part of Puerto Rican culture: coffee.
The use of coffee from Torrification Major Roastery in Ponce gives the beer a distinctly local identity. Instead of overwhelming bitterness, the coffee appears to work alongside the porter base, adding roasted aromatics, subtle chocolate character, and a smooth espresso-like finish.
At 7% ABV, the beer lands firmly in the richer side of the brewery’s portfolio while still aiming for drinkability and balance.
Flavor & Aroma Profile
Aroma
Fresh roasted coffee leads immediately, followed by dark chocolate, toasted malt, and subtle cocoa notes.
Hop Presence
Specialty dark malts create a smooth backbone with hints of bittersweet chocolate, light caramel, and roasted bread crust.
Malt Character
Low hop bitterness keeps the focus on the coffee and malt profile while providing enough balance to support the porter body.
Finish
Smooth, warming, and coffee-forward with lingering roasted espresso character on the finish.

A Relaxed West Coast Porter Experience
La Greca Coffee Porter feels especially fitting for Boquerón Brewing Co.’s west coast atmosphere. This is the kind of beer built for slower evenings, conversations at the taproom, and pairing with Puerto Rico’s café culture.
While many local breweries continue leaning heavily into hop-forward styles, releases like this show the growing interest in darker, more layered beers across Puerto Rico’s craft beer scene.
For porter fans and coffee drinkers alike, La Greca Coffee Porter brings both worlds together in a distinctly Puerto Rican way.
“A beer created by coffee lovers, for coffee lovers.”
