Fifteen years of brewing is no small milestone, especially in Puerto Rico’s evolving craft beer landscape. For Boquerón Brewing Company, this anniversary is about honoring where it all began. To mark the moment, the brewery is bringing back Crash Boat IPA Bottles, a gesture of gratitude to everyone who has been part of their journey.

This release isn’t about reinvention. It’s about recognition. A thankyou, poured with intention.

A Beer That Started It All

Crash Boat IPA has been part of Boquerón Brewing Company since the very beginning. It was first brewed in the basement of a residence at 150 Estación Street in Boquerón, long before taprooms, expansions, or widespread recognition. What started as a passion project quickly became a defining beer, one that helped shape the brewery’s identity and reputation.

While bottles were discontinued in 2018 with the move to the 12 oz can format, the soul of Crash Boat IPA never changed. The recipe remained intact. The quality stayed consistent. And the connection to its origins was never lost.

Returning to the Original Format

Bringing Crash Boat IPA bottles back is symbolic. It’s a nod to the early days. A reminder of where Boquerón Brewing Company came from. And a way to let longtime supporters reconnect with a beer exactly as they remember it.

For newer fans, it’s also a chance to experience Crash Boat IPA in the format that helped introduce Puerto Rican craft beer to a wider audience.

Award-Winning, On a Global Stage

Crash Boat IPA isn’t just meaningful locally. It has earned international recognition, standing shoulder to shoulder with IPAs from around the world.

🏆 Crash Boat IPA Awards:

  • 🥇 LA International Beer Competition 2019
  • 🥉 NY International Beer Competition 2019
  • 🥉 NY International Beer Competition 2020
  • 🥉 La Pola Dorada – International Beer Cup 2024

For a Puerto Rican brewery, these honors represent more than medals. They’re proof that local craft beer can compete globally and win.

A Toast to the Community

This anniversary release is, above all, about appreciation. Appreciation for the drinkers who believed early. For the community that showed up. And for everyone who helped turn a basement project into a lasting brewery.

Crash Boat IPA, in its original bottle, is a celebration of 15 years of passion, persistence, and Puerto Rican craft beer.
