3 Palmas Imperial Milk Stout is now puring at Boquerón Brewing, seven years after one of the brewery’s original dark beers last appeared. Reimagined for 2026 at a much bigger 8.3% ABV, its return also arrives as Boquerón celebrates its 15th anniversary.

This isn’t simply a revival of the 2019 recipe.

Boquerón has taken the original 3 Palmas Milk Stout and pushed it in a richer, more robust direction. The brewery describes the new version as more intense, more robust and deeper, with dark chocolate, coffee, toasted malt and sweet fruit wrapped in a creamy texture.

It’s a familiar name with considerably more intensity, and seven years later, 3 Palmas is stronger than ever.

Stronger Than Ever: 3 Palmas Imperial Milk Stout Now Pouring

A Boquerón Original, Reimagined

3 Palmas has history. The original Milk Stout was one of Boquerón Brewing’s earlier dark beers, offering a flavorful but approachable take on the style.

For its 2026 return, Boquerón didn’t simply recreate the beer that disappeared from the lineup seven years ago. Instead, the brewery revisited the recipe and elevated it to an Imperial Milk Stout.

At 8.3% ABV, the new 3 Palmas brings considerably more depth and intensity while maintaining the creamy character at the heart of the beer.

It’s part comeback, part reinvention and an appropriate way for Boquerón to revisit its past while celebrating 15 years of brewing in Puerto Rico.

What to Expect

At 8.3%, the new 3 Palmas promises a noticeably bigger experience than the Milk Stout longtime Boquerón drinkers may remember.

3 Palmas Imperial Milk Stout Flavor & Aroma Profile

Aroma

Coffee and roasted malt lead the aroma, backed by darker chocolate notes and a touch of sweet fruit that adds another layer to the beer’s malt driven profile.

Malt Character

Malt is firmly at the center of 3 Palmas. Dark chocolate, coffee and toasted malt provide the foundation, while the Milk Stout’s sweeter character helps soften the roast and gives the beer its richer, more rounded profile.

Hop Presence

This isn’t a beer built around hops. Expect the hop presence to remain in the background, providing enough balance to keep the malt and sweetness in check while allowing the roasted character to remain the focus.

Finish & Mouthfeel

A creamy texture remains an important part of 3 Palmas, but at 8.3% ABV, this Imperial version should bring considerably more body and presence than the original.

Dark chocolate, coffee and toasted malt carry through the finish, leaving behind a rich, lingering character that encourages a slower sip.

From the Original to Imperial

The most interesting part of this release isn’t simply that Boquerón brought an old beer back. It’s that they didn’t leave it alone. Rather than recreate 3 Palmas exactly as drinkers remember it, the brewery revisited the recipe and transformed it into something bigger.

The original was a Milk Stout. The 2026 3 Palmas is an Imperial Milk Stout at 8.3% ABV, with Boquerón emphasizing greater intensity, robustness and depth.

That makes this more than a nostalgic anniversary release. It’s an evolution of one of the brewery’s originals, taking a recipe from 2019 and showing what Boquerón wants that beer to be seven years later.

Best Enjoyed With

The combination of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate and creamy sweetness gives 3 Palmas plenty of pairing possibilities.

Try it alongside smoked or grilled meats, barbecue, a rich burger or braised beef. For dessert, chocolate cake, brownies, flan and coffee-forward desserts should all play naturally with the stout’s darker flavors.

Or skip the pairing altogether.

An 8.3% Imperial Milk Stout is equally well suited to pouring into a glass and giving it some time to open up as you drink it.

PRBG Final Pour

3 Palmas isn’t back simply for nostalgia. Boquerón has taken one of its original dark beers and given it a new identity for 2026.

What began as a Milk Stout returns seven years later as an 8.3% Imperial Milk Stout, bringing together dark chocolate, coffee, toasted malt, sweet fruit and a creamy body in a considerably bigger package.

For longtime Boquerón drinkers, there’s some history in the glass. For anyone discovering 3 Palmas for the first time, there’s no need to know the original to appreciate what Boquerón has created.

A recipe from 2019. Revisited for 2026. And stronger than ever.
